A former professor and administrator at Columbia University, Dr. Barrett has exceptional educational experience in the areas of English Education, College Admissions, and Career Counseling. She is a nationally recognized educational consultant committed to helping students of all backgrounds reach their potential. Her career in college admissions for Columbia University gives her a unique perspective on the admissions process at both regional and national levels. Dr. Barrett can provide the expert guidance needed in improving test scores, developing a list of target colleges, managing applications, writing college and scholarship essays, researching scholarship and financial aid resources, and preparing for college and career interviews.

Joseph Pabian

Assistant Director

Joseph Pabian is the Assistant Director of 5 Points Prep. Utilizing his bachelor’s degree in psychology and his experience of being a statistics Tutor Lead at Georgia College & State University, Joseph ensures that the students of 5 Points Prep are met with outstanding support and given the tools for success. Joseph’s undergraduate journey has provided him with multiple opportunities to present research at scientific conferences. This has given Joseph strong skills in APA writing, data interpretation, and effective communication. Being a Tutor Lead for his university also developed his values in teamwork and facilitating positive learning environments. Joseph brings forth his versatility in the aim of serving both the students and tutors of 5 Points Prep.

Ally Driver

Program Director & Academic Coach

Ally Driver is a current MPH/Ph.D. student at the University of Georgia’s College of Public Health in the Department of Health Promotion and Behavior where she teaches an undergraduate course on Issues in Women’s Health. Ally tutors ACT & SAT Reading, English and Writing and Language. In addition, she tutors students in American Government, numerous History courses, and English-Language Arts.

Kiet Le

Academic Coach

Kiet is currently a Research Fellow in the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He was born in Vietnam and has lived in the United States since middle school. Kiet received a Master of Science in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University in 2023 and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Georgia in 2021. When first introduced to the field of economics as an undergraduate, he was struck by how the subject is rooted in a dynamic and evolving amalgamation of the arts and sciences. Economics is upheld by immutable mathematics theories and statistical rules, yet has been endlessly debated by intellects and researchers throughout human history in academic literature, classical philosophy and daily discourse. This ever-changing nature of economics has drawn his utmost interest as a lifelong learner. For over five years, Kiet has provided tutoring services to students across diverse academic levels, encompassing high school through graduate studies. He derives great satisfaction from observing the success of his students and, in his instructional approach, endeavors to encompass both theoretical underpinnings and practical applications.

Dr. Michael Ford

Michael Ford, the lead Language Arts tutor at 5 Points Prep, brings his enthusiastic dedication to learning and the written word to every class he teaches. He has completed his doctoral degree in English at the University of Georgia, where he has received awards for his teaching and scholarship.

Patrick Akande

Academic Consultant

Patrick Akande is working on his Ph.D in Math at the University of Georgia. He brings enthusiasm and expertise to each of his lessons, meeting every student where they are and helping them grow.

Devin Gallagher

Data and Operations Manager

Devin Gallagher tutors all subjects of the SAT and the ACT. She customizes her teaching methods to suit her students’ learning preferences and tailors materials to previous results. She also works to create a fun and enjoyable learning experience! Currently, Devin is a rising senior at the University of Georgia studying Statistics and Risk Management as a double major.

Colton Carter

Academic Consultant

Colton Carter brings creativity and passion to the classroom as the head tutor for math and science at 5 Points Prep. Born and raised in Oconee county, Colton was a former student at 5 Points Prep. He is a recent graduate of Harvard University where he got a BA in chemistry and music. Colton has experience working with students on a wide variety of subjects: algebra, geometry, precalculus, calculus, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and biology among others. During the summer, Colton lives in Cambridge, MA as the Head Teaching Fellow for Harvard Summer School’s introductory organic chemistry course. During the academic year, Colton is tutoring with 5PP and taking classes at the University of Georgia. Outside of work and school, Colton studies and works in musical theatre as a music director and conductor.

Sophia Loparco

Academic Coach

Sophia tutors SAT/ACT math and ACT science here at 5 Points Prep. She enjoys tailoring her teaching methods to meet individual students’ needs and help them develop the skills and confidence necessary to achieve their test taking goals. She received her BSc in Cognitive Science and MSc in Neuroscience at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She is passionate about programming, computational modeling, and data science in addition to understanding how people think from her research on neuroimaging, memory, and decision making. Outside of her work she values sustainability, environmentalism, and equity.

Avery Rose

Social Media Marketing Coordinator

Avery Rose is the Social Media Marketing Coordinator at 5 Points Prep. Utilizing her passion for the realm of creativity and her extensive background in a variety of media, Avery designs social media campaigns and advertisements that flaunt all 5 Points Prep has to offer with an artistic flair. Avery is currently a junior at the University of Georgia and is pursuing a major in Marketing as well as a minor in Design & Media.
