Dr. Barrett brings two decades of experience in higher education administration directly to students navigating their college journey. As both a former professor and admissions officer at Columbia University, she understands the college process from multiple perspectives—what admissions committees look for and how students can authentically showcase their strengths.
What makes Dr. Barrett’s approach unique is her ability to provide a comprehensive academic picture by offering college counseling, test preparation, and tutoring services. With personalized strategies that prioritize college fit, she has guided hundreds of families through every step of the admissions process, helping students gain admission to institutions where they excel academically and personally.
Candice Bailey
Associate Director
Candice Bailey received her BA in writing from the University of Loyola New Orleans and an MFA in poetry from the University of Mississippi. Starting at 5 Points Prep as an ELA tutor, she now uses her writing and communication skills to work with students and their families, helping them to attain their test prep and academic goals. She is also an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association. Previously, she worked as a writing tutor and English instructor at the University of Mississippi, University of Texas at Austin, Tennessee State University, and Austin Community College. She also lived in South Korea for nine years, teaching English and working as an editor for a testing company. Her writing can be found in publications across the web.
Delia McConnell
Assistant Director
Delia McConnell holds degrees in Mathematics & Philosophy and Music from Yale University and has spent the past two years as a tutor in Philadelphia. There, she split her time between working as a calculus instructor at the University of Pennsylvania and tutoring middle and high school students across all disciplines. Delia is committed to building relationships with her students and tailoring her work to best fit their needs. She is looking forward to continuing her work as a tutor and administrator at 5 Points Prep.
Ethan White
Math Program Coordinator & Academic Coach
Ethan White is a math and science tutor from Milton, Georgia. He attended UGA and completed his Bachelor’s in Psychology in December of 2024. He has remained at UGA to pursue a Master’s in Social Work. He enjoys playing music, rock climbing, and playing sports with his friends. Ethan values helping kids improve their math skills and looks forward to tutoring more students in the future.
Joseph Pabian
Academic Coach
Joseph Pabian is a tutor at 5 Points Prep who works with students in both math and verbal subjects. In addition to test preparation, he provides general academic support by helping students strengthen subject knowledge, develop study skills, and build the confidence needed for long-term success. Joseph earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Georgia College & State University, where he also served as a Lead Statistics Tutor. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Research Psychology, further developing his expertise in learning, problem-solving, and academic growth strategies.
Ava Gruszczinski
Academic Coach
Ava Gruszczinski is an undergraduate student at the University of Georgia pursuing an English degree and History minor. Engaged in student life and extracurriculars, she loves working with any and all students for any topic. After graduation, she hopes to attend UGA’s School of Law and pass the bar exam. When not engaged in any particular activity, she can be found reading a novel or writing poetry.
Khoa Le
Academic Coach
Khoa Le is a master’s student in Computer Science at the University of Georgia. He has served as a Teaching Assistant in the School of Computing and is currently conducting research in biomedical image analysis, focusing on vision–brain understanding and medical applications of quantum computing. In addition to his academic work, Khoa tutors SAT and ACT Math, Computer Science, and AP Precalculus.
Evan Sinclair
Academic Coach
Evan Sinclair is a science and math tutor for the SAT and ACT, as well as a teacher of AP science courses, including biology and chemistry. He graduated from the University of Georgia, studying biology on the pre-medical track with minors in chemistry and applied biotechnology. He graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors.
Colton Carter
Academic Consultant
Colton Carter brings creativity and passion to the classroom as a tutor in math and science. Born and raised in Oconee county, Colton was a former student at 5 Points Prep. He is a graduate of Harvard University where he got a BA in chemistry and music. Colton has experience working with students on a wide variety of subjects: algebra, geometry, precalculus, calculus, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and biology among others. During the summer, Colton lives in Cambridge, MA as the Head Teaching Fellow for Harvard Summer School’s introductory organic chemistry course. During the academic year, Colton is tutoring with 5PP and taking classes at the University of Georgia. Outside of work and school, Colton studies and works in musical theatre as a music director and conductor.
